Ross Ulbricht Auction Nets $1.8M in Bitcoin

A recent auction of items belonging to Silk Road’s founder Ross Ulbricht, which brought in $1.8million worth of Bitcoin, has seen collectors competing for the chance to own pieces of cryptohistory.

Ulbricht was a person who pardoned by former President Donald Trump In the beginning of this year we offered several items on Scarce City, a Bitcoin only marketplace.

The collection included personal effects from before his 2013 arrest — such as a sleeping bag, backpack, and drum — as well as prison memorabilia like a lock, notebook, clothing, and several paintings created while incarcerated.

“I’ve left Arizona, the state where I was in prison. It’s time to travel. That means downsizing and turning the page,” Ulbricht wrote On the Auction Page “I don’t need the reminders and I’m sure some of you will love to have them.”

Ulbricht’s final prison ID card fetches 11 BTC

One of the standout pieces, Ulbricht’s final prison ID card, fetched 11 BTC — over $1.1 million at current prices. “The guard tried to get me to stop smiling for the photo, but my joy comes from within,” Ulbricht commented. “So I smiled that day, even though I was in prison.”

Ulbricht’s collaborative work with a prisoner named “Omega” The winning bid was 1.01 BTC. “It gave me the feeling that, if I could pass through it, something better would be on the other side,” Ulbricht said about the art.

As collateral, the bidders needed to put down 1% of their total amount. To ensure fairness, bids made at the last minute reset the timer.

Bitcoin payments are due by the 2nd of June.BTCPayPal, although smaller amounts are accepted.

Dormant Bitcoins worth millions

The auction raised $1.8 million and the winning bidder received significant community donationsUlbricht could have millions of dollars in Bitcoin.

Conor Grogan is the Coinbase Director. highlighted Ulbricht is likely to be the owner of wallets that contain 430 BTC. This amount, valued currently at $47 million dollars, has been inactive for over 13 years. They have been sitting inactive since over 13 years. Authorities never took them.

“I found ~430 BTC across dozens of wallets associated with Ross Ulbricht that were not confiscated by the [US government] and have been untouched for 13+ years,” Grogan Shared on X.

Blockchain analytics firm Arkham Intelligence confirmed Grogan’s evaluation, tracking 14 Bitcoin address connected to Silk Road. The wallet that holds the most BTC is one of them.
