Tether, in partnership the Government of Georgia, has announced its plans to introduce GEL? – a stablecoin indexed to the Georgian Lari.

Tether’s USD? It has a capitalization of around $190billion, and 24-hour volumes are regularly higher than Visa and Mastercard. Tether does not describe the asset as central bank digital currencies (CBDC).
GEL? GEL? Georgian frameworks are designed to work with U.S. standards. GENIUS Act places Georgia amongst the first nations to seek regulatory interoperability between the U.S. evolving digital asset framework.
