Pump.Fun, the platform for Solana’s meme coins, has taken down its live-streaming feature following backlash from scandalous streams. Platform allows anyone to create SOL/USD tokens without any coding knowledge, and simultaneously stream the entire process. After reports of violent and harmful behavior, many called on the platform’s live-streaming feature to be suspended.

“We acknowledge that recent events on our platform’s live streams have caused concern,” The word Pump.fun is said as a statement. “We regret to hear of some of the experiences that users went through and take this opportunity to address them openly and directly.” Live-streaming was paused for a period of time by the platform. “indefinite time period” until “the moderation infrastructure is ready to deal with the heightened levels of activity.”
Users can still generate meme coins and exchange them independently, but live streaming is not possible. Recent live streamings captured multiple instances of danger, including some that involved minors.

Another incident involved a child threatening family members by shooting a gun if the token’s price target wasn’t reached. Some users promised NSFW, while creators offered increasingly provocative materials as investment thresholds were met. Pump.fun suspended live streams after all the controversy.
“Moving forward, we will be significantly more transparent about rules and regulations of using the site by publishing guidelines,” Pump.fun said that the team. “We will also provide creators and users greater visibility into individual moderation decisions to ensure everyone understands the process and outcomes.”
The anonymous platform creator, only known as “Alon,” Also issued public statement On X, a recent outrage. “Let me make it abundantly clear: we actively moderate illicit content on the site,” Alon said. “That includes images, videos, live streams, and comments. Although we strongly stand for free speech and expression, it’s our responsibility to ensure that users don’t see clearly repulsive/dangerous content and that bad actors aren’t given a platform to act as they wish.” Alon still has not commented on the decision of deactivating the live streaming service.
