The co-founders of EthereumETH) rival Solana (SOL() has reportedly been sued for misappropriating income from the crypto assets of his ex-wife.
Bloomberg reports Elisa has accused her former husband Stephen Akridge, in a San Francisco Superior Court complaint, of taking millions of dollar’s worth of stake rewards from her Solana tokens.
The rewards for staking are comparable to the interest that you earn on a deposit at a bank. Participants in the stake process are crypto holders who lock up their assets to verify blockchain transactions. They also earn tokens.
According to the complaint, the dispute began after Akridge filed for divorce with Rossi in February 2023. Rossi claims that Akridge controlled and operated the account in question from mid-March to early April and received the SOL tokens commissions.
Rossi said that Akridge was the principal engineer for Solana before becoming CEO of Cyber Grant in California. “took advantage of the significant disparity in expertise in cryptocurrencies and blockchain that he possessed.”
Rossi, however, claims that the dispute tokens are worth a considerable amount. The suit seeks damages and claims that Akridge committed fraud, breached contract and unjustly enriched itself.
