Brad Garlinghouse is the CEO of Ripple and has expressed his appreciation for U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s recently launched cryptocurrency. announced Innovation Advisory Committee is also known as an “Olympics crypto roster.” The comment was made after the CFTC announced a lineup of 35 senior executives from cryptocurrency markets, traditional exchanges (including NYSEs), market infrastructure companies, venture capitalists, academia and platforms for sports betting, prediction, and predictions.
It is the purpose of the Innovation Advisory Committee to provide advice to the Agency as it strives to stay abreast with technology changes in financial markets. Official roster of executives includes major crypto companies and digital assets protocols. On the membership list, you will find Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong as well as Uniswap Labs Chief Executive Hayden Adams as well as Solana Labs chief executive Anatoly Ykovenko. Chainlink Labs co-founder Sergey Nazarov.
Also, there are representatives of crypto firms and those who work in custody or investment as well.
Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Cardano, has criticised Brad Garlinghouse despite his recent appointment as Ripple’s CEO. CNF reported Hoskinson claimed that the Ripple CEO was siding with the regulators during the debate on the proposed U.S. CLARITY act.
CFTC goes Crypto
The committee also includes executives of established institutions in the financial markets and infrastructure. CME Group’s Terry Duffy and Nasdaq’s Adenafriedman are on the roster, as is DTCC’s Frank LaSalla. These executives bring their expertise and market knowledge to the advisory board alongside digital asset operators.
This list also contains participants in prediction markets, sports betting and other firms with an interest in derivatives and event-based contracts. The CFTC’s list includes Polymarket CEO Shayne Cooper, DraftKings Chief Executive Jason Robins and FanDuel president Christian Genetski.
It is important to note that the committee works to update rules and regulations to reflect changes in technology. The Innovation Advisory Committee allows for structured feedback from various segments of the market as the CFTC gets ready to play a bigger role overseeing digital assets and derivatives.
