Metaplanet Inc., widely recognized as Japan’s top Bitcoin Treasury Company, has announced The Bitcoin accumulation strategy has been updated. “555 Million Plan” The goal is to acquire over 210,000 BTC before the end of 2027. This would be equivalent to 1 percent of Bitcoin’s supply.

Metaplanet launched Asia’s largest marketplace to fund the growth. Bitcoin-focused equity raise, aiming to secure ¥770.9 billion (approximately $5.4 billion) through the issuance of 555 million shares via moving strike warrants. It is the first of its kind to be offered in Japan at a price premium over the market. This was made possible due to the high liquidity and volatility of the shares.
Metaplanet still has 296 millions authorized shares. At the annual general meeting on 24 March, shareholders approved a rise in authorized shares. The company will have around 759 millions fully-diluted shares after the 555,000,000 new shares are issued.
Metaplanet Bitcoin performance and yield targets for 2025 The BTC market has shown a strong growth, with yields in the quarters 41.7% for Q3 2024 and 309.8% for Q4 2024. Quarterly yields in 2025 were 95.6%, Q1 2025 and Q2 2025. And projected yields in 2025 of 35% in both Q3 and 2025. Year-to-date, the BTC yield in 2025 is 225.4%. This brings us closer to our full-year target of 232%.
Metaplanet is also known as announced EVO FUND will receive the rights to the 20th-22nd Series via an allocation by a third party. This could add 555 million shares. The exercise price for the initial series is JPY 1,388, and it will increase regularly in line with stock prices. Certain series also include a bonus to provide protection to shareholders. The exercise period spans from June 24, 2020, through June 23, 2027. It is expected that approximately JPY 767.4 Billion will be generated.
