MicroStrategy, the world’s largest publicly traded company in Bitcoin ownership with more than 214,400 BTC worth $15 billion On its balance sheet. Saylor directed the adoption of Bitcoin by Saylor as their primary reserve currency in 2020.
Bitcoin’s average cost per bitcoin remains about $35,000. Bitcoin is currently trading at around $68,000. The firm’s holdings are still in the black.
This latest capital raising of $500 million was achieved by selling convertible senior bonds to institutional buyers. These notes are due to mature in 2032 and will be paid interest bi-annually.
As per the announcementMicroStrategy can use these funds to fund general business purposes but Bitcoin remains their top priority. MicroStrategy will offer initial buyers the opportunity to purchase additional notes worth $75 million.
MicroStrategy has become a Wall Street equivalent of Bitcoin because it is obsessed with buying Bitcoin. Stocks of the company often fluctuate with Bitcoin prices, as investors bet on BTC’s upward movement.
