Does US Crypto Regulations Increase XRP Adoption Rate?
Ripple is a fintech firm that uses the XRP token. From December 2020 until 2025, Ripple was involved in a long-running court case with the SEC. The SEC alleged that Ripple sold securities not registered. A US court ruled retail XRP purchases were not securities, whereas institutional purchases fell under the Securities laws. SEC and CFTC classified XRP, in March this year as a commodity rather than a security.
If passed, the upcoming US crypto regulation may build further on the SEC’s and CFTC’s classification of XRP. Investors will feel more comfortable investing in XRP now that the regulatory landscape is clearer. This asset could gain more credibility on US markets. This could increase the adoption of XRP among US investors. The move could encourage institutions to reinvest in XRP.
XRP saw several ETFs launched in the spot market at the end of 2025. The crypto world has embraced ETFs as a major pillar. Clearer regulation and a wide range of ETFs could result in a positive future for XRP.
