EigenLayer, a blockchain-based platform for developers and businesses has released a feature allowing them to use Actively Validated services on networks other than Ethereum. The new feature is available starting with Base.
It was announced on the 24th of July through EigenCloud’s EigenCloudX account. AVSs had been restricted to Ethereum until recently.ETH( mainnet, where the growth had been slowed by slow speeds and high fees. Thanks to Multi-Chain verification, AVSs are now able to operate on Layer 2-based networks such as Base.
It allows developers to set up in new chains simply by changing a couple of contract parameters. EigenLayer (EIGEN() released this feature in a public beta on Base Sepolia. This is a version test of the Base Network. AVSs who join the beta can start testing multi-chain configurations.

The data of operators will be automatically updated every day. Changes that are critical, such as the removal or reducing of node-operators, will take place immediately on all supported chains. In the next months, mainnet support will be available.
EigenLayer is releasing this release as part of its push to develop a “verifiable cloud” Decentralized applications and services led to launch EigenCloud, June 17, 2017 DeFiLlama reports that the protocol holds over 17 billion dollars in ETH staked and EIGEN. dataIt is positioning itself to be a key part of the web3 infrastructure.
This follows EigenCloud’s new Redistribution function, introduced on July 22, which allows AVSs to redirect funds that have been cut. reward Users or to cover up losses rather than burning them.
The ongoing improvements and partnership of EigenLayer
EigenLayer also implemented technical improvements to increase performance and lower costs. They include the BLS12-381 curve which enhances scaleability as well as MOOCOW which is an upgrade to validator efficiency.
Infura (a major partner) and LayerZero, an independent company are working on the protocol.ZROPier Two manages assets worth over $1 billion. These updates demonstrate EigenCloud’s commitment to building flexible, secure tools for developers who work across multiple chains.
