El Salvador’s Bitcoin adoption and Osorio’s journey
El Salvador is making news in the crypto industry because it has openly adopted Bitcoin. Napoleon Osorio a taxi-driver, joined the BTC train.
The first taxi driver to accept Bitcoin
Osorio, 39 years old, was the first taxi driver in the world to accept payment using the King Coin. John Dennehy created the nonprofit My First Bitcoin and introduced him to the world of cryptocurrencies. Osorio has embraced digital technology and is now accepting Bitcoins via his mobile app.

Entrepreneurship Via Bitcoin
Then he can start a taxi business. Osorio runs Bit-Driver a business that employs twenty-one chauffeurs. He used the increase in Bitcoin value to purchase four rental vehicles. Further, he said:
“Before, I was unemployed… and now I have my own business.”
Financial Support and Government Support
Osorio’s struggles with money have now subsided. El Salvador was the first country to accept Bitcoin as legal currency. This step was taken by President Nayib Bukele to increase the financial inclusion of El Salvador.
Chivo Wallet Initiative
Chivo Wallet is a wallet that the government has developed to reduce transaction fees. El Salvadorans have free access to this platform that allows them to send BTC and receive it. As a welcoming gift, new users received BTC worth $30.

The government has been trying to get the people of Colombia to use the coin, but despite Osorio’s tale and the effort made by the Government 88% have not used it.
