Jameson Lopp, a Bitcoin expert from MIT, was my guest at the MIT Bitcoin Expo in April. We discussed the present state and the future of Bitcoin. Bitcoin.
Jameson is a founding member CasaJeremy Welch and I founded, a service that allows users to create their own multisignature keys, in 2017. This was after a lengthy stint at Bitgo (another multisignature-based service) as software engineers. He’s been working in the Bitcoin world since 2012 as both a researcher and software developer.
Lopp has become famous after a 2017 swatting, which occurred during the Blocksize Wars. Someone tried to force the police in his home on the false belief that Jameson had hostages. He changed his living and residence habits after that incident to make sure his name was not on public records.
Addressing poisoning attacks was briefly discussed. Then, after discussing this topic, we held a general discussion of the current status of Bitcoin and Bitcoin’s project as well as its protocol.
