A report by Creative Planning and a tweet/X post from Charlie Bilello show that Bitcoin has outperformed other asset classes. Gold, for example, only returned 26%.

Bitcoin Overtakes Gold, US Indexes and other Indexes
Bitcoin is still the top performing asset class, despite some criticism and regulatory action. BTC led other asset classes since 2011 except at least for three years in which it gave negative returns. In 2018, Bitcoin yielded a -73%.
Bitcoin’s performance was consistent, but there were times when it exceeded 1,000%. Bitcoin, according to this chart, offered yields as high as 1,437% for 2011. This was higher than the long-term bonds with an average of 1.43%. “modest” 34%.
Bitcoins’ yield has disappointed both its investors and holders at times. The yield of the asset is lower this year than it was last year (156%). Bitcoin also topped the list of major asset classes last year and beat gold.
Bitcoin’s Volatility is Still Present, But It Shows Strength
Bitcoin has been a great performer in the asset class world for most of these 14 years, but its volatility continues to raise questions. Bitcoin and other crypto currencies are always a risk due to price fluctuations, policy changes or even erratic announcements.
