AgriFORCE Growing Systems Ltd., a Canadian agricultural company, has started a project to utilize stranded natural gas for 120 Bitcoin miner rigs. The firm plans to increase the number of rigs.

AgriFORCE, in Berwyn (Alberta), has launched a site that draws computing power of 425 Kilowatts per Second (kW/s) and 32 Petahashes Per Second (PH/s). said On Tuesday,

Site will utilize so-called “stranded” gas. Stranded natural gas is gas that cannot be sold immediately because the mining of it would be too expensive or could not be done with current equipment.

AgriFORCE signed an agreement with BlueFlare for the opening of two additional sites in Alberta, in Oyen and Hinton. These will be modeled after the Berwyn location.

“We don’t wait for permits or grid upgrades — we convert gas into compute in weeks, not years,” AgriFORCE CEO Jolie Kahn said.
