The first Bitcoin payment by a US President was made on today’s date. It was Donald Trump.

Former President Obama visited PubKey in New York City’s Greenwich Village to buy some cheeseburgers. National Cheeseburger Day( ), at an establishment that was packed to the brim with Bitcoin fans there to greet him.
“I think it’s a great place,” Trump told Bitcoin Magazine that PubKey is a popular bar. He then encouraged the Bitcoin-loving patrons to go to the polls in November.
“Get out and vote, because if you vote, we cannot lose. We want to get everybody that agrees with you people — and there’s a lot of people — [to vote],” he said.
“They’ve been treating you very badly at the SEC, and we’re going to treat you very fairly.”
Trump stated that making the payment is easy and went smoothly. “quickly and beautifully.”

Thomas Pacchia, one of the owners at the bar, was there to accompany Trump as he completed the deal. Trump then made a brief introduction to the crowd.
“This was one of the most important Bitcoin transactions of all time,” Pacchia said
“President Trump came to PubKey to connect with the Bitcoin community — to show his support to the Bitcoin community,” He added.
“We are very excited he was here.”
