Blockchain is being used by the Department of Motor Vehicles of California, the state with the highest population in the US.
A new study suggests that announcement Ava Labs is the company behind Avalanche.AVAXThe State of California updates its system of title transfers using the chain.
What can Avalanche L1 be used for?
“The California DMV has launched its own Avalanche chain to improve the experience of vehicle title transfers for CA’s 39M+ residents.”
This is a companion piece postAva Labs claims that the process of transferring a title will take only minutes, instead of the usual weeks.
“Trusted transfers is one of the main challenges for any e-titling solution to succeed. Bringing these titles onto an Avalanche L1 brings full transparency and added security, and will allow vehicle owners to track and manage their pink slip titles digitally.”
Reuters reports This move adds 42,000,000 car titles to the Avalanche chain. The collaboration is between Oxhead Alpha and the State of California. It’s the first partnership of this kind to allow users in the United States access their digital titles via an app.
John Wu, Ava Labs president, said that the titles had already been added to blockchain. California claims that the app could be available as soon as next year.
